It was easy to use once I got into the menu and found out how to do that also once I was able to power it on and up it worked great and since I ordered a power supply it works good I do not know if it recordes I have not try that part of it that's not the reason I purchased it I have not record with it I use it as a monitor and the monitor works good

We utilize 14 of these type of Camcorders for Day and Night research. We have found them to easy to use, and daytime clarity is Excellent. The ambient light feature allows us to use them in darkness to photograph anything that generates light....and they have captured several interesting images. If one is looking for an inexpensive alternative to Videotape...then this could be your answer. Tapes are plentiful, and replacement batteries are readily available.
Very good camera if you want an inexpensive video camera for recording. Easy to use, and easy to copy recordings to DVR or DVD.

I won the bid on the camera after several failed attempts at other models. It was actually my first purchase on ebay. I purchased it to replace a similar model that I had owned previously, but lost in an offshore fishing trip. I have used it a couple of times already, and it performed favorably. It has a few features my old camcorder did not have, and I haven't had the time or need to use them yet. But, overall I have been pleased with the purchase.
The JVC GR SXM740U is packed with amenities and it's very easy to use. There are so many good things that can be said about this little camcorder that there's not enough room here to put them all!
