Neil Young His first ever greatest-hits collection, Greatest Hits is a long-awaited retrospective from one of rock's most influential and enduring singer-songwriters. With 16 selections spanning his entire career since 1969, Greatest Hits features some of the greatest hits of rock'n'roll, period. This collection was assembled and prepared by John Knowland, at Neil Young's Redwood Ranch Studios. The meticulous studio work presented in this collection ensures that this is the very best these songs have ever sounded. For the collection, 30 IPS, flat tape copies of tracks 1-14, were assembled from the original analog masters. Tracks 15 and 16 were transferred from up-converted 176.4/24 bit digital masters created from the original lower res. digital masters. CD/DVD package includes the original stereo master mixes (for highest resolution listening), photo gallery and other bonuses. When a song is played via the DVD, the screen shows the original vinyl album spinning on a turntable as the needle goes to the appropriate groove and progresses in synch with incredible audio clarity with the song.

Awesome collection of Neil Young's best work
I can't imagine a better collection of Neil Young's music on a single cd. I was a teen age'r when this music was popular, Listening to this music really takes me back to a special time in my life. I couldn't afford to purchase many records, 8 tracks or cassettes (yeah I'm old) when I was a teenager. on my own back in the day. But now I can. I am retired now and have time to listen and enjoy. Neil Young really touched a generation with his words and music. Some of it is painful to remember, (4 dead in Ohio) but it's all good.I can't imagine a better collection of Neil Young's music on a single cd. Neil Young is great as everyone knows. He has been around for over 40 years because the music he makes is good. Good hard rock and roll. Most of his best stuff is on the disc and its worth it to buy if your into his kind of music. Its a quick way to get familiar with his music if you dont know much about him too. The one complaint that I have about Neil Young is that he is lyrically minimalist. He does not have a lot to say in terms of his lyrics. Its mostly his guitar that does most of the talking. When he does say something its usually meaningful but he does not do enough of it. The best example for me is on the song "Ohio." There is a piece in the middle of the song where instead of having lyrics written he just goes La la la la la la la. Im listening to it and Im thinking ... Neil Young is great as everyone knows. Neil Young's Greatest Hits is just what it says it is. I love it.
I bought this to support Neil Young and his statement against the misinformation being spread on Spotify, but I'd forgotten how great these songs were. I am so glad that I bought this to be able to listen to these wonderful classic rock songs by Neil. It reminds me of the difficult times that both Neil and I came up in, the protests, the Vietnam war, the Civil rights movement, and the progress we made as a society during those tumultuous years. Well, here we are again, and I am glad to have his inspiring music to get me through these years now as well. BTW, the CD came right away and in good shape. I bought this to support Neil Young and his statement against the misinformation being spread on Spotify, but I'd forgotten how great these songs were. The majority of the tracks are from the 70's, when he released much of his best work. Basically every song is excellent and there's not a bad track on the cd. Hey Hey My My (Into the Black) is a particularly great version. After listening to the cd several times, I just wish there was more. Overall, this is a great cd with music starting in Neil Young's Crazy Horse days continuing all the way into the 90's.
