Nice Camcorder - Light weight, video is great quality. It could use a few firmware changes to allow you to focus or set the lighting with the little joystick easier (i.e.) Move up/down/right/left and it could use an external mic, but those are things 99% of people would have no real use for. The Video quality like I said is GREAT 1080p 60 frames, Eats up the memory and large to edit but worth it for the quality. The image stabilization if really good, the higher models seem to do it a bit different but this is pretty good for handholding at a Band performance or sporting event. I've always been a Fan of sony products, and I will admit I looked at other brands before making this purchase, and Sony still WON!! My Previous camcorder was another sony, and a sony before that one. I am so glad to be away from the DV tapes, and VHS tapes!!Read full review

While deciding which HD camcorder to purchase, I read many reviews. Several said that this camera is cheaply made or that it lacks features, etc. While all the above may be true, this camera is a fantastic camera for the price. It wasn't designed to compete with feature rich titanium cameras. It was designed to be a quality camera that is easy to use at an affordable price and it is all that.

It has good light detection outdoors even on cloudy days. Light weight, affordable, and very easy to use. I am not a camera buff but I still like to capture the moment on film. This camera makes it possible for me.

Overall I really like this camera. It is extremely light, has a very good zoom (60 x Optical) and the image quality is almost as good as my Canon xa30. Its biggest shortcoming is a poor instruction manual and the difficulty in understanding the resolution settings.
