I liked that there are multiple winter games to be played on this disc. However, the biggest drawack is the use of the hand held controller for all of the skiing events. It would have been a MUCH better game and made more sense to allow an adaption for the balance board in place of the controllers. The hand controllers make the game very sensitive and often does not allow your player to perform the task as you intend, because one controller may be slightly tilted. However, I must say I am not a skier and this may not be an issue for someone that skis often. It is a fun game once you get the hang of the controllers.
I generally like the Wii sports games -- the different motions and getting into the game...but this wasn't my favorite. It has lots of games within it -- skiing games and bobsled and jumping, speed and figure skating....I just never could really get into it / get it going. It seems like a good game and a kid with video game experience who's better with the remote would probably enjoy it immensely. Less a game so for the older "non-gamers" who got the Wii for Wii Sports and the Fit and such.
Good + As a skier I purchased it for fun. And it is fun. Takes some getting used to, to navigate the game and to learn the controls. The skiing is the best part of the series, the figure skating is more like a Simon game. The skiing requires sensitive control use so might be difficult for young or disabled to enjoy. Will be hard for all to 'master', but that's the fun of it. Animation is outstanding, but too long to load and get to the game itself. Good on screen instructions, though. Would buy again.
I tried this game on PC. And it was a mess. So I wasn't really confessed, when I ordered this game. The package is just casual. The game itself includes all the games like PC version. There are three almost same games - luge, bobsleigh and skeleton. One is enough. But anyway the games are easy to play at various difficulties. Only the Alpine skiing is very hard to control. This is a weakness of this game. Overall this game is a good choice. Sometimes very difficult to control, but to Wii users gives a lot of fun even it won't be entertaining for a long time. I give 5 of 10 points
Entertaining for a very short time. Some of the sports are too easy while others are nearly impossible and it seems like there's no way to win like cross-country skiing where you have to move the controls with both hands forward and backward to the point of being aerobic and very hard on the shoulders and I'm in good shape! The comments by the "sports casters" are repetitive even in the same ski run so I turned off the volume. Instructions on some games aren't very good but I figured them out fairly quickly. The writing on the screen is hard to see on an analog set unless it's huge. There are spelling errors in the manual which makes me wonder about the authenticity. I would not buy this game if I had the choice again. This is not a reflection on the seller who delivered it as promised.
