Anything that offers more freedom from those controller cords tethering me to the console is a big deal for me. It's also a bonus that I needn't worry about the kids tripping over the wires and sending my console crashing to the floor. While there may be updated wireless controllers for the nes now days, the NES satellite offers a more genuine vintage gameplay and feel. Nintendo did well with the build, the appearance, and the long lasting function of the batteries. The longevity of the batteries is quite phenomenal. I think the manual says something like 132 hours (I didn't dig it out of storage to check it out). This is no cheap knock-off. The signal works at pretty extreme angles (I have my Nintendo 3 ft off the floor and the satellite has no problem communicating with just two feet from the wall. Overall, I am so satisfied that I am purchasing a second for the basement.Read full review
