Was browsing Ebay pricing this item and noticed the lack of reviews. Purchased this on Ebay and have been very very happy with this model. It doesn't get much publicity compared to the ipad and kindle fire or Samsung galaxy but is well worth the price. First look at the quad core unit. Not many even on the market. A fast and speedy tablet. You'll love this thing Lightweight: I'd recommend the huge 10 inch screen but with this size its very lightweight and really nothing out there that's much different. All the apps you'll ever want. Now with google apps being so popular this device can play both the google and amazon apps. More than enough. (you wouldn't miss apple apps anyway). Nice clarity on this model. The picture is sharp and clear in the HD model. Don't have time to get the specs but again with the gorilla glass this model is highly recommended. Gorilla glass meaning it doesn't scratch easily. One thing I wish this model would have that the thrive has is the long ac cord so when your battery needs charging you could use it while its plugged in. It might come with honeycomb or whatever but Toshiba will quickly update this for you to Jelly Bean giving it an even more happier experience. I've tried the Coby, the thrive, pocket pc's and many laptops. This excite is far and away one of the nicer electronic purchases you could make. I don't have an ipad so I can't give you a comparison. From what I've heard many like this model better. Finally consider getting the bigger memory models will be of use in the future as you download apps. The apps are usually in the internal memory and the sd card slot is used for other things such as music, photos, and movies. You'll want at least 16 with a 32 or 64gb preferred. Check out there forum also. Very helpful. Good Luck.Read full review
I had done about a month of searching every site on the internet. Open minded while looking for my first tablet. I wanted most of the bells and whistles for the best price, but I did not want to get features without quality or vice versa. I finally found that the Toshiba Excite was the one for me and the wife. It has everything and more, and it is very, very fast. Keeps up with my sisters Ipad 3 with no problem. This thing is built strong also, it has a nice metal backing and the Gorilla glass up front. It has everything I was looking for, the rear camera even has a flash and a light and it takes pictures just fine. If your looking for a tablet with the best of the newer features for a good price, I would suggest looking no further. This is only my opinion, hopefully it helps someone out there. Bought used...like new and works perfectly! Quad Core and my upgrade to Android 4.1 makes this thing fast and a pleasure to use...especially good with multi-tasking, which I tend to do to the extreme. Nice size with responsive capacitive touch screen. Only problem is that there doesn't seem to be a dock for it. Not a deal breaker, but it would be nice...maybe in the future Toshiba? The nice and (now) inexpensive Excite 10.1 Trend cases/covers (including the one with built in keyboard) work for it, but not Trend docks. Also, Excite 10.1 cases/covers available. (NOTE: the Trend docks hold the Excite 10.1 as a stable stand, but without power to the tablet or use of dock's ports.) Great bang for the buck, especially at used price! Would highly recommend!
The Toshiba product is everything that I expected and fits my needs very nicely. The product is easy and fun to use. I would recommend this product to anyone. So far I have no problems with it, but this is my first one, so I really have nothing to compare it with.
Bought for my wife and she loves it. Has replaced her lap top. Have always liked Toshiba and this continues positive reviews.
