As alluded to by the title, Medal of Honor: Rising Sun focuses specifically on the Pacific Theatre of Operations in this installment of EA GAMES' best-selling first-person shooter series. Players slip into the fatigues of Marine Corporal Joseph Griffin on a mission to rescue his abducted brother from a Japanese prisoner of war camp located somewhere in the Philippines. The tour of duty can be completed alone or with the help of a friend in a new cooperative multiplayer mode.<br><br>The game begins on board the USS California, stationed at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack, as players fight to survive the ensuing chaos. From that point on, Griffin will lead his troops through the jungles of Guadalcanal and journey to three other locales set within the Pacific Theater. Captain Dale Dye, USMC (ret.), who helped ensure authenticity in films such as Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July, and Saving Private Ryan, once again lends his expertise to the development staff.

A great FPS thats better than Frontline.
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a huge improvment over Frontline. First of all, the game is even more dramatic. It starts off with the Pearl Harbor bombing scene, which is even more dramatic than the Omaha Beach scene Frontline started with. The game's levels are much more fun, and are more exciting. Rather than leading you down a linear path like in Frontline, there are several paths, and many ways to get each thing done. However, there are no puzzles, just bigger and more complex levels. Rising Sun takes place in the Pacific. Certain levels have you in a boat, and the water effects are incredible. Graphics are very good, with more detail than in the first. There is still no blood or gore. The sound effectds are again excellent, and the music adds to the cinematic feel. Control is great ... Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a huge improvment over Frontline. It feels much better than the muliplayer mode from Frontline. The levels are well designed, and there are over 15 of them. There is no online play, but four player split screen is supported. Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a must buy FPS. It is historically accurate, and Frontline's flaws are cleaned up.

A very fun game for my brother & I at a very low price!
I bought this game in the first place because the game has a co-op feature in which allowed both my little brother and I to play the single player story mode. Another reason why I bought this game was that I didn’t play it for five years and I really wanted to see what it was like again playing it. My final reason of purchasing this game was that eBay offered it for such a low price; I believe it was only $4 or $5 total including the shipping. What I liked most about this game was playing it with my little brother. My brother and I beat this game within three days; it was difficult at times, however I consider it a very easy game to beat. Another reason why I liked it a lot was the fact that I am a World War Two history buff and this game goes hand in hand with my interests. One last ... Of course there is PS3’s and Xbox 360’s, etc; however this game was great for it’s time and you can verify it by reading the many reviews on it, and of course by playing it! So if you are a World War II nut and love shooter games, I say go for it!
