I upgraded from a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 inch to this Tab S 10.5 inch product....only because I dropped the Tab 2 and cracked the screen really bad, so decided to upgrade, otherwise I would still be using it. Really cant tell the difference in screen size, but the quality of the color of the screen is the absolute same -- ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Best screen color around...no need to tilt the device for better viewing, it is GREAT from all angles.....wish they all were this good. My eyes are not the best, so this product is wonderful, easy on my eyes and for focusing....great for older folks. Fast response time on my WIFI. Love this thing!! I mostly play my little games on it and check various web sites and it is wonderful. I sit and play while I watch TV and it does everything I want it to do. For heavier, more involved things, I go to my PC. I am not truly computer savvy, but everything I have tried to do and want to do, this product does the trick. It probably is capable of doing more than I want from it, but if I do not have a need, then it is not necessary. Well worth the price, worth the performance, and worth the experience. Samsung has this down to a science and I will not risk buying another brand because I know nothing else will compare. Long time Samsung tablet user and will continue to be.Read full review

Maybe it's just mine but, it is really slow and hard to pair with bluetooth. Takes forever for videos to load too. Nothing in memory to slow it down, it's brand new. Good tablet in all other ways. Just not great in the speed dept. Horrible battery life. Battery only lasts for 2 hours only checking email.

So, my Gt-N8013 decided to die one night completely unexpectedly, as pretty much all electronics do. Had searched and searched, just thinking I'll buy another one, as I was happy with the now older Gt-N8013. It had served me well for close to 3 years of daily use. The bottom line is this, this SmT-800 blows it away as far as speed goes. Where I would wait for the cursor to catch up many times on the older unit, it just doesn't happen on this new version. It has a crisper screen, micro Usb charger vs a specialized Samsung design, so it's easier to travel with...... I don't do much sound wise, so no comparison there, but it is certainly not any worse than older tablet. I like the fact the the buttons are externally accessible for the home, wakeup, and back button, vs them being on the screen. However, I do miss the always present screenshot button on the older Gt-N8013. Am I happy that I upgraded in the process? Absolutely. Price wise, it's well worth the money to upgrade to this one simply due to the speed. Trust me, it will save your hair being ripped out one by one when the older one would still be deciding what to do with the commands you gave it. Don't get me wrong, I loved the older version, it's by no means a $10 tablet and super slow, but once you get used to this new version, you'll understand why you like the new one so much more.Read full review

The original Tab S is very nice. It's design borrows heavily from the Galaxy S5. It feels really premium and has decent specs. 16GB of storage is really its only downside, but you can drop a microSD card inside. But it just wont hold many apps with only 16GB of storage. The card slot is SDXC compliant, so you can use a microSD up to 2TB. The display si its best feature. The 2560x1600 Super AMOLED is amazingly beautiful. Videos at native resolution look super crisp and sharp with no lose in details. The aspect ration of 19:9/10 is much better than the latest model which went with a 4:3 ratio. The audio on the speakers is excellent. They get a bit fuzzy if you turn them up to max. But, even though they are side firing, they sound like they are pointed at you, and they have a surround-like audio quality. The tablet isn't fast or slow, but it does get laggy at times, especially if your internal storage is near full. The rear camera is solid. Probably the best tablet camera for a device that is now 2 models old. Even though its only 8MP, it has LED flash. Though I don't take any picture with it normally, when I do they are very good in good lighting and adjust very well for dim lighting. I recommend getting the older model for lots of reasons. Namely, it has a higher resolution display, its better for watch movies as it supports 16:9 aspect ratio, so you don't get the black bars at the top or bottom. Even though its 10.5", its very light and compact. Only con is it may not get Android 6.0 which would be a shame. Samsung just seems to have abandoned this tablet as far as software updates, as it only just got Lollipop last year. The best alternative to this model, would be the Note 10.1. Slightly smaller, same resolution, you get the advantages of the Galaxy Note like the S-Pen and its apps.Read full review

I'm very impressed with tablet. The screen is very clear and crisp. The camera has nice auto focus and good flash. I would recommend a case/protection for it. It's very thin and light and can be hard to grasp. I would recommend this product for a person that likes android based products or maybe for an iPad user that would like something a little less expensive without losing quality or features.
