Product Information
Released for the Wii in 2007, the title is a compilation of nine different minigames. Each of these games is designed to take advantage of the Wii Remote in a different way. Every game on this disc is compatible for up to two players. When playing by yourself, you can attempt to complete challenges in each game and earn medals. You can post your best scores to a leaderboard for your friends to view. "Wii Play" also makes extensive use of your created characters. In many games, you'll play as your Mii, or the character will appear in the background. "Wii Play" is also fully compatible with the Wii U gaming console. In Shooting Range, you'll use your Wii Remote as a pointer. Just point where you want to shoot and pull the trigger underneath the controller. In this video game, you'll shoot at balloons, soda cans, and even UFOs. Eagle-eyed gamers will also notice cameos from other Nintendo video games, such as the ducks from "Duck Hunt." Practice makes perfect as gamers can rack up big scores by shooting targets without missing. Find Mii has you choosing characters from a crowd. The title will give you specific features to look for, and you'll then need to select the proper character. In Pose Mii, you'll be copying the poses shown on the screen by rotating the controller. If you've played Tennis on the "Wii Sports" software, you'll feel right at home with Table Tennis. In this minigame, you'll use the controller's motion sensor to swing the racket at the ball. The strength of the swing and the angle will determine where the ball flies. Laser Hockey plays in a similar fashion. You'll use the controller as a makeshift puck, blocking your goal while attempting to score on your opponent. Fishing and Billiards are two of the more laid-back video games on this Nintendo Wii title. In Fishing, the controller functions as a rod for the player to cast into a lake and reel in as many fish as possible. A marquee at the top of the screen shows which fish give bonus points. In Billiards, you'll be transported to a pool hall for some classic sports action. You use your controller to line up shots and the motion sensor to determine the strength of each shot. Invest enough time into this minigame, and you'll soon find yourself pulling off trick shots like the pros. The final two games are the most action-oriented of them all. In Charge, you need to destroy scarecrows with your rampaging cow. You'll gain the high score by destroying the most scarecrows in the least amount of time. Tanks is the breakout star of this collection of games. It plays like NES games, with players piloting small tanks around a 2-D environment. Your objective is to blow up other vehicles while protecting your own. This collection of games is fun for gamers of all skill levels and ages. If you're looking for a great party game, then "Wii Play" on the Wii will fit the bill.

It’s good, but it feels a little dated. IMO Wii sports is way better/more fun, but for $5 it’s definitely worth a go. The best feature is the pool game.

It packs 9 games that are actually addictive as well as competitive. Some of them can get too repetitive like the duck hunt look alike and the cow racing. A couple of them I avoid all together like fishing and Find Mii. However the best games like Laser Hockey and ping pong make this game worth getting. My personal favorite is TANKS which is an in depth strategy shooter with a very simple scheme that allows you to blaze thru hundreds of enemies on up to 20 levels on 2 players or up to 100 levels on single player with no resume point if you lose all your lives! The 2 player is set up as a kill competition but its alot funner when you and a partner work together to finish all the tough levels. TANKS is the only reason 'I' would get the game but there's still much more to Wii Play. definitely one for the Wii collection for years to come.

Shooting Range: very similar to Duck Hunt from the original Nintendo days
Find Mii: a brain game that progresses from simple to your level (even if that may be a really high level) -- great game
Table Tennis: ok... I greatly prefer Tennis on Wii Sports
Pose Mii: meh... would be better if the control twisting were more responsive
Laser Hockey: love it
Billiards: Only 9-Ball and it does not follow the combination rule -- meaning a successful 3-9 combination will not end the game. The cue control takes a little time. Overall: another good game.
Fishing: not for me... might be fun for you.
Charge!: easy to control and fun to play
Tanks!: not for me... might be fun for you.
OVERALL: A good game at a great price.

I still haven't tried it, however, I do enjoy watching my husband playing the games, being silly at least for a while. :-) Easy to play. Would recommend for new Wii users or rather New video game players. (Like me.) The shooting game isn't as easy as it looks, those ducks and targets go by REAL fast. Have had problems getting zapper to aim very well, have to use nanuck remote to shoot them. Only draw back can think of. Enjoy. Good price, quality too.
