Cheapest 16 thread CPU
Subj. Only 8 FPU, but 16 ALU. Very good way to upgrade old G34 system. If you need a maximum - you should find Opteron 63xx, but it is very expensive.

Nice server processor for AMD fans
Drops into G34 sockets and provides 16 cores at 2.1Ghz. Not true cores as (I believe) there are only 8 Floating Point Units (FPUs) that are shared between each pair of Integer cores. These CPUs work great and are fine for scale out work. One note, you may have to update the BIOS of older servers before they recognize and use these CPUs. Older motherboards may refuse to boot until the BIOS is updated to recognize these CPUs.Drops into G34 sockets and provides 16 cores at 2.1Ghz. Very good product for very good price!
I didn't want to pay $600 for new Opteron 6272 so I decided go with used one. It costs almost $500 less. The product was clean (old thermal grease was removed cleanly), CPU is fully-functional and in very good shape overall (almost like a new one).
