Great little tablet if you can find it for under $250. it's OK without a type cover (keyboard) but the keyboard is nessasary if you do many emails or web work. Voice recognition is better than ever as is handwriting-to-type. If you cn get used to using a Surface pen, you may forgo a keyboard. The real issue,c from a cost stanpoint, is a pen & type cover arent included & you'll spen $50 for a good used type cover. You might find a pen for $20-$30. You can get 8+ hrs of use without a keyboard with eifi on and/or watching video with braightness at around 25%. Bluetooth will reduce that by 10%. Also turn off the keyboard back light when not needed. Screen res of so high it helps compensate for the small size. FHD movies look great. Sound quality is great & pretty loud for a small tablet. If you just play on facebook stick to a $90 RCA tablet. Read full review

Good fit for the job I picked it for. The screen is smaller than I'd like for other applications but is fine for the USB control apps I'm using for ham radio purposes. I can run some pretty amazing things on it like FT8 or other digital modes. I picked it for portability and ability to provide use without needing the power grid or use car battery thereby potentially stranding me. It does operate some Microsoft mail apps and that is often useful. i'm not using it for heavy graphics such as Photoshop etc. But for ease of carrying around or going on a camping/hamming trip, it's about right!

The Surface Go is a great little computer. I use it for everything from online business to programming. The size is just right - fits nicely into my bicycle bag and goes everywhere with me. Battery life is good. Build quality is excellent - the metal alloy case is rugged, smooth, and has a solid feel. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass which is very tough and is scratch resistant. Mine was a bundle and came with the optional keyboard cover. I find the keyboard to be very nice with good tactile feedback, and the keys are well placed. Backlighting is a bonus for use in dim areas. But the cool thing is that you don't really need the optional surface go keyboard because this computer also has Bluetooth and so will connect to most all Bluetooth keyboards and other devices so you have a wide range of options. For connectivity there is a USB-C port. My devices are all standard USB and so would not connect but a simple and inexpensive adapter fixed the issue. The USB-C was a great choice by Microsoft for this tablet because it is small and more mechanically rugged than a standard USB port. Also, it can handle more electrical current which means that externally powered USB hubs are no longer needed in most cases. Out of the box, the operating system is Windows 10s. This is a limited version of Windows 10 which only lets you install software from the Microsoft store. That is a deal breaker for me and many others but fortunately there is an easy, painless way to convert to full Windows 10 professional which involves just following some simple instructions from Microsoft. To sum, I think that the Surface Go is good value for money. I'm very pleased with it and would recommend. Read full review

I just love this little computer. It was given to me brand new as a Christmas gift several years ago, and at first I thought that I would have little use for it due to the Windows 10 mode S limitation of only being able to install software from the windows store. But soon I discovered how to get out of mode S and then wow! - what a great little machine! I use this computer for everything. I am a software developer so I use it for programming. In addition, I am an amateur radio enthusiast and SWL and so I also use it to run various SDR radio and digital mode programs. I also use it as a test instrument on my workbench, running DVM and spectrum analyzer software. Further, it is used for website building, eMail correspondence, and watching videos to boot :). It handles all of these tasks well. Speed is good, screen is very bright and clear, and sound is awesome. For connectivity, Microsoft made a great choice in using a single USB-C port. USB Type C is quickly becoming the standard and with good reason - the physical connectors are rugged, small, and data transfer is lightning fast. The surface go can also be charged through its USB-C port, and it can easily power accessory devices through same as well. But what I really like is the size and weight - they are so perfect! I can toss it into my backpack, bicycle bag, or just tuck it under an arm. And its very ruggedly built too. I've had many, many laptops etc over the years but none of them really worked as well for me. As of this writing, the Surface Go is now in its third generation. In my opinion, if you want a great little jack-of-all-trades Windows computer, you can't go wrong with the Surface Go. Read full review
