If your laptop runs Windows10 and has a cardbus slot, this is a great way to add Fire-Wire capability to capture video from a camcorder that has a fire-wire interface. At least it has been proven workable with a Sony DCR-TRV330. The trick here is to change the default Windows selected driver for the device to the OCHI-Compliant Legacy driver. You can Google it and find it for download. Then you must go into device manager and change the driver. Then this card works... FWIW, if you are trying to capture digital video from a Sony, you might find WinDV, or Scenalyzer downloads will work for you as it did for me. Good luck...
