I was happy to get my VisionTek mSATA SSD module and eagerly tried to install it into my Windows PC. However, after a tedious effort to initialize the SSD I gave up frustrated. The disk was not showing up in the Disk Management app, even though the Windows Device Manager showed the presence of the drive. The app would not allow the population of the volume information or assignment of a drive letter to the SSD. Thankfully, I had an external enclosure that supported m.2 SATA SSDs and proceeded to install the VisionTek product into the enclosure. Plugging the external drive into the USB 3 port on Windows PC yielded the same useless result. The SSD was still not being recognized by my PC. However, to my surprise, my wife's Macintosh computer recognized the module as an un-fomatted disk and I was able to initialize and format the drive as a Windows 10 compatible disk drive. Now it is neatly installed internally in my Windows machine and appears to be functioning quite normally.Read full review
