I bought the PLA5456kit here on eBay. I received the package. Opened it up and read the quick install directions. I plugged them into an outlet. Actually plugged one 5456 into the other 5456 then into the same outlet. (Piggy backed them into one 120V outlet) I then ran an Ethernet cable to both. One cable to my laptop into one 5456 and one cable from the other 5456 to the router. I pushed the button on one for 2 seconds. Then pressed the button on the other one. Synced up in about a minute or so. Checked to be sure that I had internet connection via Ethernet. Then I unplugged the top 5456 and moved it to the location in the house where I intended to use it. Plugged it into the socket. Waited for it to sync back up. Used my laptop once again to verify connectivity was present. Then I connected my TV and my Dish Network receiver to the two Ethernet connections. On-Demand and my sling work flawlessly now. I can use the Dish Anywhere App almost everywhere I get a high speed Wi-Fi connection. Streams live TV pretty good most of the time but is highly dependant upon the host Wi-Fi quality. On-Demand works better so overall is a great Dish network solution and I am sure will work for almost all cable or sat providers.. Hardly ever buffers when using a remote connection and never buffers when using the Dish or TV internal apps which is the gold standard.Read full review

I already had a pair of these in operation, but needed a 3rd. eBay had the best price for a single unit, and it was easy to pair with the other 2. So now I've got 2 remote locations receiving ethernet internet over powerline, and way better than wifi would allow at the distance.

Very easy to use. Plug either one to household power outlet near Ethernet access. Connect cat 5 or 6 cable, then connect other to another household outlet and hook up you laptop or pc or tv and all is good. I have it hooked up to my dvd player which give me access to netflix, hulu, youtube, etc. works great.

I was able to connect my house internet connection to our detached garage. Set up was super easy. Two cautions: 1. if your power socket is near the floor you may have trouble connecting your ethernet cable. In my case, it was too close to the floor. I needed to purchase a plug adaptor from home depot which turned the direction of my socket sideways. 2. I struggled a little with the encryption set up. Simplest thing to do is to start over.

This powerline adaptor is great, good speed, good price, very easy to use. My smart TV wifi was getting very iffy, running an ethernet cable through the house was messy and a trip hazard, this solved the problem for me.
