I have enough readers to open a store but I still prefer the older (non lit) screens. Seems a book light shining on the screen is better than the lit screens I have. It's just more comfortable. Be aware that the covers with a light are notoriously bad for the PRS-350 and the 650 (they turn to dust after about a year as did this one) it's in no way the sellers fault, they were always bad. But the light on the cover is one of the best so I'm just going to use thin sheets of self adhesive leather and recover the cover. Reader is a good deal.

This will be my second PRS-350. The first one I had lasted about two months of light use - summertime reading in the park while the kids play. I carry it in my cargo pants side pocket. One day I go to pick it up and notice a black band across the screen. Powered it on and off, band remains. Leave it till next day hoping its a glitch, next day, the band has spread, rendering the device unusable. Bought another on eBay only to have the same problem appear after a light toss into a drawer! For reference, I have a Nook touch, three years running, used and abused, still works like a champ. Gave it 2 stars because I preferred the screen of the PRS-350 to the nook, plus it is more portable. Buy only if you are "extra" careful with your gadgets.

I left my first Sony Reader Pocket Edition on a Delta flight to Florida (with about 30 books loaded on it). I was so bummed that someone decided to keep it rather than turn it in. I went to the Sony website and this e-Reader was no longer available, and I didn't like the newer version because the case is plastic, so I headed to EBAY. I found the exact model I lost (the PRS-350SC)and bought it for the same price I paid for my first one, and I could transfer all the books in my Sony e-Reader library on to it. It's comfortable to hold, I love that I just touch the screen lightly to turn the page, and it holds a charge well. This e-Reader fits nicely in one of the pockets in my purse. The only downside is that you have to buy the power adapter separately which I already had done for the one I lost (so whoever found my first one will have to buy an adapter to charge it). Oh, and there is a way to password protect it so no one can else can access it and I have passworded my new one!Read full review
The Sony PRS-350 is in Brand New condition. After installing the last known firmware for the unit on the e-reader - I connected to my computer and was literally reading books on the PRS-350 within 10 minutes of the NEW reader arriving.
