Gameplay is an understatement. X-Plane is a development tool that challenges the average person to learn about airplanes and fly them. Additionally, one needs to understand or at least learn about data references and plug ins before one can take full advantage of the software. If you want a challenge in learning, this is for you. I happen to like challenges. This is hardly a game, its a development tool more closely related to an engineering CAD tool. cpt Cabassa

Tried to install this product on to two different computers. Would not install on a 10 computer. Finally was able to install it on a 7 computer. Took a lot of tries to get it to install on the computer. Finally got it to fly but was very uncontrollable. I then had to download 188 pages of the manual which does not come with the disc. No way could anyone fly this product with out having that manual......and even with it.....not enjoyable at all because it seems like all the settings you have to try....none of them really do the trick. I finally gave up and bought a Microsoft Flight Sim X that I'm very happy with.

The only con is that X-Plane 11 is an improvement. The pros: X-Plane produces updates every ten weeks, while Microsoft used to produce updates for FS every three years, though aftermarket developers (Full Terrain dot com) really improve FSX with higher quality add-ons. There are lots of add-on airplanes available for X-Plane, which is a more open-source program. I'm running X-Plane 10 on a Dell Inspiron 3847 Intel Core i5 16 GB RAM with the integrated graphics and it runs smoothly, even with a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick and without the recommended GPU (video card) with dedicated VRAM (I'm considering that future upgrade.). The biggest plus is that X-Plane was designed as a simulator to aid the developer in keeping up his instrument flight skills, and the well-written documentation includes a discussion of frame rates related to sensory perception; very educational.Read full review

I am using win 11 and x-plane 10 is an older version. And I thank my joy stick is to old for x-plane 10. Going to play with it for now and see what happens... Never used X-plane flight sims before. It is clear and I do like seeing cars and etc on roads... Water looks like real water... Just need to learn more about it... I did updated it online.

I have not quite gotten my simulator set up yet, but this is highly rated by pilots and CFIs as one of the most realistic flight simulators available. I plan to use it to supplement my flight training and aircraft transition at a later date. Just about any GA built has a sim availble, and they even have a download for my home field for free!
