Buying the AppleCare third party like this is totally worth it. I'm absolutely going to buy all my future AppleCare products online from now on and not from Apple. This extends the warranty to 2 years which is awesome. Plus I get two repairs of accidental damage for $45.

This deal seemed to good to be true and sure enough, it was. AppleCare does not exist for iPads and longer and apparently hasn't for awhile. It is now AppleCare +, a totally different product. In short, I tried to register my iPad mini (under the deadline for doing so) and Apple contacted me to say the AppleCare product I tried to use was long expired.
