Great system for the money, comes with everything, and as simple as plug and play. Only issue I had was that the system did not come with setup instructions for the internet connections. It wanted me to go to there website for them, which meant I had to have both a computer and the Zmodo system working, which for most people are not located in the same area, and if so you still have to monitors running. Setup was not hard but if you are a person that is not computer knowledgeable, it would be hard. Overall very happy, second system and would buy another if I need one.

Shipping was great and it arrived a day early. Setup is pretty simple. The interface to review recordings is very time-consuming. The timeline has a 24-hour slider and each pixel is about 15 minutes and there are no thumbnail previews or smart search for an area and fast forward is not that much faster that real time. Suppose it was cheap and made to stay that way. The packaging is hard to even verify what is in the box as it has pictures but no part number and they use SKUs that need to be cross referenced. I did verify I got what was ordered but took some time. I did not realize SPOE or Simple POE does not work with a standard POE switch which I had hoped to use to make my runs easier and not sure I like the connectors on the camera ends, they feel like they could come loose with no lock like a normal RJ45. If I had a do-over, I would look for straight POE and spend more money on the NVR with a better search. Best picture is between 10 and 20 feet gets blurry beyond that night vision is really only good for about 10, but the cameras are about what I expected for the cost.Read full review

The system is wired and uses micro usb connections thus making the installation easy and less intrusive. All you need is a 1/2 inch drill bit (long one) and run the wires to the control box. The image quality is good but you need an HD at a cost of about $70 to make it a real system.

I enjoy switching from regular TV to Zmodo. I used to get up look out the back or front where I herd a noise. Now clear color pic/ video during the day allows me to see a squirrel jumping on and off my car. The night vision is better than I have ever seen, other then military application. The night vision helps keep the lawn strong and green as well. It shows gray scale changes of anything it looks at. I haven't tried painting with it yet. You get a complete picture of what is happening around your yard from your chair. I have a degenerative spine and the less I move the better. I no longer make the decision to go look if there is a person on my property. Just switch HDMI ports and all 4-8 views show my perimeter.
