I previously had this game several years ago, but I bought it again after seeing some cameos of that game and/or Battle Clash in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.

There weren't a lot of good games for the Super Scope... Metal Combat (and it's prequel, Battle Clash) were hands down the best. These games alone would have made the Super Scope worth it. They are challenging to say the least, very well designed, great gameplay mechanics, and just awesome giant fighting robots that shoot at each other. Excellent game.
I just purchased a superscope and read that Metal Combat is one of the best games for the scope. Indeed it is. I would even go so far to say that it is one of the best SNES games. It is a bigger challenge than Battle Clash, its prequel. If you liked Battle Clash, you're going to flip when you play this. 2 ST's to play with, 2 player mode in which P2 can play as an enemy on screen. Also, 3 difficulties which are extremely challenging. The first is fine, but when you get into medium and hard, it gets pretty ridiculous. Many new attacks open up for your enemies. You can explore different attacks for the enemies in 2P mode; different attacks will open up for different limbs being blown off. Enough of the rambling... If you have a Super Scope, this game is a must. You have to get it. You don't have a choice. No... really. It's that good.Read full review
I got this one for $1. Not because this is a bad game, but it is an extremely low-profile and unnappreciated game. This was due to the unpopularity of the snes super scope, and it came out at a bad time. But if you enjoy light-gun style shooting games with a great arcade fell, and you still own a super scope, this is for you. Also try it's prequel, Battleclash.
