The good: Good value for money, good sound, Apple CarPlay works great (with a caveat), and intuitive, easy to use. The bad: Screen is very reflective so, depending on where it's located and light sources, it might be hard to see sometimes. Had a hard time setting up CarPlay on my iPhone X that was very frustrating. Turned out to be a weird setting in the iPhone and not a problem with the unit. It appears that on devices running iOS 12 and later, you have to update the settings to allow it. To do so, go to: Preferences - Screen Time - Content & Privacy Restrictions - turn on - Allowed Apps - ensure CarPlay is allowed.

This unit puts out 300 watts, so the sound quality is great. I'm reselling it because it doesn't feature mirror of my android phone and I can't uses google play. This unit only works with Apple OS. I should have read more about it before I purchased. It takes a long time for it to power the radio and when you put it in reverse it will play the radio while backing up sometimes. It also will get hung up on the camera switch relay until you shut off the vehicle.

If you have basic needs like Apple Car Play and great sound, then this will be perfect. My primary issue is that it does start at the source you used previously. The radio always loads first. I wish that there was a rear usb connection that I could place strategically, because the cable coming straight out the front gets in the way. The mic cable was also just slightly short for the upper left side of my car. Other than that, installation was easy and everything works.

My kid did his research and picked this radio. It exactly like the one that came in my 2018 Silverado and I love my Silverado radio. Very easy to wire had 2 ground wires so I hooked one to the harness and one to the frame behind the dash works great and came with a microphone that is good quality I would recommend it

Great entry level carplay radio. Lots of comments regarding having to connect it. That’s how CarPlay works. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it but the product works as advertised. What I like: overall works great. Don’t cheap out. Get yourself a wire harness for your car - it’s likely those that have some of the odd issues wired it wrong. A harness prevents that. I’ve learned I like rheostat-like volume knobs, not buttons. This one works awesome. I’ve had ones in the past that had a mind of their own. What I don’t like: like most - the brightness. You’ve got bright, semi-dim and off. Even though entry level, these options are pretty lousy. Some apps are clunkier than others. For instance - SiriusXM app works great, free radio tubers work great. Pandora stinks. I have to open it first, then plug in and if there are any issues, let’s just say it’s no longer hands free due to the glitchy pandora app. Likely not the radios fault. Overall impression: the radio is a great price, and assuming you are willing to give up cd/dvd it’s an absolute must.Read full review
