Replacement for a Model 3000 Microsoft mouse that died after 16 years. Feels the same. Battery compartment is on bottom and + and - are clearly indicated. A power switch has been added. No need for extra care with mini dongle; projects maybe half an inch, so few (if any) worries about accidental damage. Quieter clicking. Even with battery in place, 3500 is lighter than 3000 without a battery.
