The crimper, cable stripper, and the ends are fine and did what they were supposed to. However, the tester worked for less than a day and then stopped, with a noticeable smell of melting electronics. I'm sure the tester itself is normally a solid product, but this one was probably just a bad one in the lot that was manufactured. That can happen.

Took me a long time to find out that it wasn't my connector wiring that was the problem but rather that the tester was defective. I did however learn how to make up Ethernet cable connections as a result. Crimper tool was fine as were the other parts of the kit. If you buy check the tester on a known good cable before you assume that you must have done something wrong.

The whole kit seems to work well, I have had no issues building and testing cable. I didn't notice when buying it that it actually includes a redundant selection of tools for stripping the outer casing of CAT-5 and COAX. Obviously not a real issue but I will probably actually split those up across a couple of different tool kits.

For the price, not bad at all. It's no serious pro kit, but will get the job done. Can't complain uch at all. Seems sturdy enough to take a bit of a beating. havent need to use cable tester yet, but no doubt performs as expected. Battery not included.

Make your own cables need a special length? Just make it. Crimp work well and seems to fit nice and tight on wires. Cable tester is easy to use and read.
