I would have given it a 5 star review, except for the old technology. If it was updated to the current technology it would be an outstanding DSL modem. DSL modem are hard to find, so I had to settle for this one which it does work very good and it is so much better than the AT&T 2Wire DSL modem. This modem work real good with AT&T.

Had the tech check and he said they now use two lines coming in on RJ11 high speed wiring which many of the modems are not compatible with. Mine is one of those. Not a regular RJ11 phone line with the need for a DSL adapter.

When I first started open up the DSL modem, i started plugging in the cables phone RJ11 and Ethernet RJ 45 in. I logged in to my laptop and plug Ethernet cable in. Followed up with the instructions and have to be patient and let the DSL modem to thoroughly detects whatever ISP phone line you had on your land line phone number. It took 3 retry just enough to detects whatever ISP landline phone number and I didn't know CenturyLink ISP had another business name. Turns out CenturyLink was just a brand name for the ISP they were doing business with customers and they're business name was something else I didn't recognize but the DSL modem did detects whatever ISP business business it was operating under. So I click next to setting up the username and password then set up the DNS server, channel setup, and Qos setup to preventing any chance of getting overload that will lead to internet crashed, disconnection, wifi dropping randomly, unstable internet connection, or whatever seems like I was being throttling by my internet ISP service. So all that been set up and was ready to start using. Already passed 3 hours and no WiFi drops. I'm very satisfied with this DSL ADSL modem. I hated the DSL ADSL modem the ISP gave me, they sure sucks like everyone else been saying so. They tend to working fine for a few months of using then they starts to have faulty issues without warning. Seems like being throttling or something else. Then it gets worst, disconnection issues and the settings get erase and it can't train itself to automatically detects whatever ISP settings was. I hated doing the reset back to factory default settings. That's just wasting a whole lot of my time. This is the 13th time having to do reset to factory default settings and remember how to set each settings like the technician had to set it up on my laptop screen for my internet connection to work. Hope this helps those people who are having CenturyLink ISP's DSL ADSL modem issues they gave you to use. This modem replacement for the old DSL ADSL modem they gave me to use was the best choice. Netgear Nighthawk DSL ADSL modem and Linksys DSL ADSL modem didn't work out for me. They were slower performances. So I wouldn't recommend getting them unless you want to find out the hard way that it internet connection is slower than the DSL ADSL modem your ISP sent you to use to get internet connection.Read full review

My internet speed increased fro 7 Mbps to 12 Mbps when I switched to this modem. I’m not using the WiFi since I have my own Router so cannot comment on that performance. Seller was easy to work with and shipped the product quickly.
