This works perfectly, very compact, very subtle in black. My series 1 watch has the speaker on the bottom, so in nightstand mode the alarm sound is a little muted -- but still audible. Not sure about the series 2 or series 3 watch speaker location.....but it is fine - especially for the price, better than a wireless charging setup where the watch is supposed to lay flat..
