I needed to implement a well defined storage strategy for my home. I have a few laptops, notebooks. a tablet and cell phones - all generating data that needed to be stored and shared. I have a higher end desktop i5 system that I wanted to be the 'keeper' of the data. The current system has 4 USB 2.0 ports that I determined to be a bottleneck in backups and access. I purchased one of these 2-port USB 3.0 cards to determine if the 2.0 ports were indeed the culprit. All of my attached drives are USB 3.0 running at 2.0 speeds. In short, the card went in easily, powered up and immediately all of my drives and clients were screaming. No fuss no muss. I highly recommend.

A little awkward to install. I do not see the same speed in transfers as I do with a onboard USB 3 port. It is fast and works as a USB 3 ..... don't know why the transfer speed would be lower.
