So far this router has functioned flawlessly. 1. It has a very nicely designed and easy to use Router Configuration page. Oddly, you're stuck with "admin" as a username, but you can assign your own password (which I highly suggest you change for your own protection). 2. Nice looking external design. Mama doesn't object to having it hanging by the ceiling in the Dining Room. ;<) 3. Even though it does not have external antenna(s), it gets 4-bars throughout our 27' x 54' home. 4. Western Digital...Quality. Even if is only designed by them. Proof-in-the-pudding? It performs better than the old one WITH external antennas. I purchased this router to replace an old one of the same ilk, knowing how the features performed. The old one lasted one year, almost to the day. Initially, the old one was purchased (along with a DOCSIS cable modem, CAT6 cable and 1000M network card, with the idea of updating my entire wireless network to state-of-the-art. It worked! On a promised 10Mbs download speed it achieved 23Mbs > 27Mbs! UNTIL Time Warner Cable throttled it to 16.25Mbs (even though I seldom abused the system by downloading or streaming). :<# Now I know why they are ranked at the bottom.Read full review

I bought this router to help reception in my home. The problem was the signal was weak in the living room. The wireless is in the computer room. I had trouble hooking up the device, but finally I was successful. Little improvement was noted. However, I'm not sure I hooked it up properly. After several valiant attempts to use it, I gave up and disconnected it. Due to sparse installation instructions, I don't think I can recommend it. Better instructions need to be available.
This is an awesome router. Simultaneous dual band works flawlessly. My only issue was trying to share a printer with my mac. The software isn't supported any more, and it doesn't work with OS X Mavericks. Thankfully, I installed OpenWRT and got everything working great. I've even set it up as a printing and scanning server, and also as a NAS. Great device for the money even though it doesn't support the ac standard.
i ALREADY HAD ONE SAME MODEL BEFORE THAT LASTED ME 5 YEARS
