Overview: To best the competition and win the NBA Championship! Duh :) Single Player - Pros and Cons: Pros: Good graphics and an amazing soundtrack get you excited from the get go The commentators do a fairly good job during the game play (caution - if you hit the wrong button and do a layup from half court, they will make fun of you) The ability to customize your roster with your favorite players from all the teams You can create your own character and customize just about everything about their appearance Cons: As with most sports games on a console, pulling off an advanced move can be a bit complicated When you complete a season, it just starts over (no dynasty feature on this version - get the PC version if it is a must have feature for you) The achievements are WAY to easy (Just simulate a season and you'll get most of them) Sometimes hard to see which guy you are controlling (after a basket it will usually start you off out of camera view) Free throws are difficult at best when playing at anything other than the easiest setting (and the computer knows this, so if you're winning in the 4th expect to get fouled over and over) Co-Op - Pros and Cons: Pros: Doing an instant reply after you dunk on your friend is such a rewarding experience (and you can do it over and over and over and over :) Cons: No co-op season feature The camera movements can sometimes cause you to lose sight of your player (especially when a steal is made) Multiplayer - Pros and Cons: Pros: Very little lag over Xbox Live Cons: Only two people can play at anyone time (so, you control one player and the computer gets the rest - where is the fun in that?) No voice communication during the game (when I'm getting my rear handed to me I want to be able to talk some trash - don't you?) Bottom Line: I'm not a huge fan of sports games, however, my kids and I enjoy playing this game together. The graphics are good, the soundtrack is very good, and the commentary is fun (even when they are making fun of your skills). This is a fun game to have in your library - especially when a friend is there with you. The lack of a dynasty feature (come on - why put it in the PC version and remove it from console version?), the irritation of free throw probability, and the disappointing ease of most of the achievements keeps my rating to a solid 3.00 stars.Read full review
First i would like to say how disappointed i am with the 360s sports selection thus far. When i read the article in Time about the graphics and how the 'Tiger Woods PGA' was going to be ground breaking, i expected the same from all the other sport games as well. I am going to write a review for the major league later, so you can read how horrible that game is. But Thank God that NBA live did not disappoint, too much. The graphics are pretty good, they seemed to pay more attention to the 'famous' players then some other ones, because sometimes you cannot tell who is who. The sweat graphic is horrible, makes everyone look like they have snakes coming down their necks. (Specially the black players). But overall the game play is smooth and uncomplicated. They seemed to have gone a little overboard with the free throw diffculty, i havent met some one that can make 3 in a row without lowering the setting. I would definetly recommend this game if you are a basketball fan. Very much worth it at a discount price. But the best sport game, for the 360 hands down...Fight Night Round 3. Great Great game!!!!!Read full review
I agree with people that EA messed up this year but live by far has the best graphics in any sport game i seen with the tatoos and faces but my only drawback is the lack of modes but i like playing online so it really dosent matter but the gameplay is similar to nba live 05 which is very simple and entertaing the dunks are reptive but gameplay is easy and fun. If you had NBA 2k6 it will take you weeks to learn with there cartoon like graphics but there gameplay is about equal there is no clear cut winner but if you want easy and have online play i suggest live 06 but if you like playing a more complex basketball game with many modes i suggest gettin NBA 2k6 GOOD LUCK 1

Where to start? the graphics are mostly outstanding. But once you get past that (and it won't take long) you'll realize that this is a below average title that spent more time working on the graphics than the game play. There are very few game choices, limited options, the camera angles are horrific and there are almost no extras, which is surprising because of the extra power the 360 brings, one would think that EA would have come out strong and WOWED us. Instead EA seemed to have put out a cut rate version just to be the 1st NBA game on the market for the 360. Whereas 2K6 took a little longer (not much longer at that) and came out with a better product. I've tried to come up with a redeeming quality for this game and the only one thing that comes to mind is... I bought it used and didn't pay full price!Read full review
