    Good fill light

    It does NOT give you the same effect as a ring light; i.e., it does not produce a ringed catch light in the pupil, nor create the tell tale shadow that is typical of true ring lights. But it is a great fill light, or very flat main light, producing soft even light on the subject's face that regular flash cannot. Great for outdoors, but in cold weather can be hard to set up/take down if your hands are cold. Very lightweight and portable. It's a great value for the price, just don't expect it to produce the same effects as ring flash tubes.
