i had 2gb, which is not sufficient to run win 7 x64. the 4 gb upgrade was perfect. the upgrade was the maximum amount of memory allowed on my motherboard. the only downside is that now i'm left with 2 1gb modules that are basically useless, but that has nothing to do with this i can't believe how well win 7 pro performs. this system is now ten years old, and it is running like a top. perfectly. now on a ten year old system, the mechanical hdd is going to fail, and it did fail. my upgrade was actually because of hdd failure. my upgrade to a ssd, the memory upgrade, and upgrade from vista to win 7 pro was enough to revitalize this desktop. i am so happy with it. i can not believe i was able to get this memory for this price when everywhere else was quoting me 10 times the price

My HP Pavilion Slimline had 3 GB of ram and was pathetically slow. I tried clean installing Windows 7 to limited effect. Although there are warnings that upgrading from 3GB to 4GB would not make much of an improvement it certainly made a big difference this time. The key seems to be in buying a matched set like this.

Easily installed in my desktop computer. Upgraded an older computer from 6 to 8 GB of RAM, noticeably improved speed and memory bottlenecks.

Just what was needed to bring the total ram to Microsoft Windows 10's sweet spot which is 8 GBs.

Needed to update a slightly older machine, and an SSD and more memory gave it new life.
