Works great on Linux Mint 17.3!
My previous wifi dongle that just blew up was also a Realtek, which used the rtl8192cu drivers that I had installed previously. I just plugged this dongle in and it's working like a champ using the existing drivers so I'm not going to mess around to see if the provided drivers are different. I will say that they do provide a wealth of info on installing drivers and use on a linux system (almost too much as it gets very confusing when you start going through it all) so I think they are being true to their word about linux support. The wireless device installed easily on windows 7. It works great at close range. I have not tried it from longer distances since it was not an issue for me.
