The Dynex DX-E401 is a good little router. I like the easy access to the setup and ease of operation. The indicator lights makes it easy to view the status of the router connections. It has all the same options that you will find in any other router. I have own it for more than week with no drop connections. I am also able to connect to my other computer with no problems. I like the ability to block websites that I don't want my children to visit. I wish that router manufactors would stress the ability to block certin sites from children. The size, color and price are also pluses. For the foremention reasons is why I would recomend this router to anyone.
I bought my router from Best Buy new. The first one lasted five days. Then it just stopped working. I pulled the network card from my desktop and saw that the solder points to the antena melted/burnt the card. So I went down and exhanged it for a identical one new. Came home and installed it, and guess what? The network was working but only half way. Frequent disconnects and the transfer rate was horrible. Called Dynex and told them the situation. Got some guy that couldn't pronouce a word of english and had the IQ of a peanut. Took the router back and exchanged it for a identical one "new". Installed it. Was working great. Until 24 hours with it powered up. Its now on day two and I am having frequent disconnects. Ive tried changing the channel ect. To no avail. To make matters worse my wireless computer "leech" is only 10 feet away. I know from installing my family members networks that compared to Netgear this thing is a pile of Sh*t. I could get better transfer rates with a kite some string and a couple of styrofoam cups. I hope Dynex stockholders know they own crap. Stocks of crap.Read full review
I have had several dsl routers and this one tops all on price and ease of installation. Every now and again I get a power surge (thunder storms)that fries my dsl router, whether it is the high priced name brand or a generic. The others I have bought cost more and take a little bit of brain power to install and setup. This one is dirt cheap and a monkey could install it. It conects 3 desktops and a laptop to the internet all at the same time. The time before last I couldn't find the dynex and had to pay more for another brand that I had to do some reading and settings entries to get World of Warcraft to work. When it finally got fried I found the dynex again and bought 2 so I will have a backup with zero down time when the next surge happens. I have never had a problem with any of the dynex dsl routers I have other than the surge kill that happens to the other brands as well HIGHLY RECCOMMEND BUY THIS ONE FIRST OR NEXT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTEDRead full review
liked it because it was compact in size and the price was good to. function was very simple. it is very user friendly. it also came with all necessary wires.i like that it has 4 ports also. great value for the money. The dislikes about it is that the blinking lights drive me crazy so I put it out of site.
Quick and easy installation. Instructions were clear and very well written. Very good value. Would buy again.
