During this pandemic I’ve been going back to the OG Xbox and picked up this nostalgic piece. While I may be somewhat blinded by nostalgia this game is elite and superior to other sports titles. It has a great focus on career mode with all kinds of customization. Also the split screen play is really good too, but it’s the gameplay that’s the selling point. It’s loaded with dirty animations and decisions you have to make split second like treating a injured player w proper care or just stick him with some roids and get him back out there immediately. While the graphics haven’t aged the best, they hold well. Highly recommend

When I was younger, I stood in front of the arcade version of this game and pumped my quarters into it like I had a bad habit. The tackles and the sacks came to me with ease as I became the best at the game the 7-11 around the corner had ever seen. So, with that mentality in mind I got Blitz: The League and thought that I could dominate. I put it in and played the best team vs. the worst team just to get some confidence and learn the game. I soon came to find out that this is nothing like the arcade. Sure there are big hits, but not as many bone-crushing, teeth-jarring, earth shattering hits like the first version. You need to earn those types of hits now. One thing you will have to understand though, is that I am not a "gamer". I dont play for 2-3 hours a day. Heck, I dont play that much in a week. So, maybe that is my problem. I like the game for the graphics and the play...but I really miss those easy WWE style of hits (during play and after the play is over too). The story is a nice addition too. One thing that isn't really talked about too much is the language. An f-bomb comes out every other word it seems and it provides a nasty version of smack talk. Now I am not opposed to the bad language but I have young children. So this game gets played at night after bedtime and by that time I am too tired to really "play hard". In closing, the game is good for its play and its closer to realism than before. But.....I miss the unrealistic stuff about the first one so much. If I wanted realism I would play Madden (which I do). It has just enough fantasy to make it "good" but not enough to make it "grrrrrreat"!Read full review
One of the best games I have ever played, I used to play this game when I was little I loved it. Great price a couple dollars cheaper than the game with a case so good deal. Game came in great condition.

This is where this game falls a little bit short. The "clash" mode is a great feature but it becomes to easy to win, and when you dont have any clash, it is very hard to move the football. On defense when you use the clash meter you make a dirty hit and this makes the player you are tackling more prone to injure themselves. Another new clash thing is clash icons, where you get and icon for juking a defender, getting a touchdown, a stiffarm, dirty hits, etc. Get six of these and you get and "unleash" move. These are basically the same as clash, but when you get a clash icon, you get a little cutscene and you make a spectacular catch/move or a brutal hit. The problem with this is that when you make one move, good bye clash. the clash meter is completely drained. A new gamemode to sports games in general is the story mode. This is fun, but it is more of playing the game and less of the story. Not enough cutscenes, as in your star player gets injured. Ya. nothing. Although this is not a really bad thing, if you want a story, you need to really tell the story a little quicker. Oh did i mention you can hire "escorts" to the other team and take steroids. When you do get injured the Time you are injured for is kinda not fair. Lets say i tear my MCL, 6 games! That is insane. He should be out for the season! Another flaw is the AI. It is not a HUGE problem but if you are a die hard sports gamer, the AI wont try for the two to make it a three point game. There are some funny glitches too. At one point you could be just about to sack the QB and he will dodge your tackle, but if someone else hits him at the same time, the QB froze in his position, and literally slid out of bounds standing up.Read full review
I bought this game for all of my children, ages 2-16, but especially for my 5 year old. I was not sure if he would be able to use the controls for the different plays but he absolutly loves this game. When he plays he gives a play by play of the game and gets so excited when he does a great play. He does'nt even have to score and he gets all fired up. My 2 year old little girl sits for hours and pretends to play along with hime. One of the best investments we made to help keep are children entertained. Thank you X-BOX for another great game.
