The use of the AR 3D camera is exactly what it should be. I can’t see it having a huge replay value, but it was definitely worth buying used and I look forward to playing through it once and passing it on to someone else to enjoy. If the needed book happens to be missing, Nintendo has a printable file to replace it. Or you can download it directly to a tablet, turn the screen brightness down as low as you can but so the camera still reads the pages and play it in the dark! Adds to the creepiness factor.

I love it! It's creepy, and with the 3d camera feature, it's got me creeping around my house as I play the game, afraid of what I might find.

The only problem with this game is you can't just buy the game only, you do need the book because it interacts with the camera in order to play the game. Great game for all fatal frame fans like myself. Creepy and awesome! Highly recommended.

An excellent game, very enjoyable by the Fatal Frame fans. When I first watched the japanesse version, I wasn´t so interested, until I found this was a Fatal Frame for the 3DS. First thing, this game has all the elements from any other entry in the Fatal Frame franchise. But, unlike other tittles in the series, this is a full lenght AR game. In other words, you see all through the 3DS camera, you see your surroundings with in-game elements overlapped, like Maya (the spirit you try to help during the game). It's a very fun game, and has a decent difficulty setting. There are only two downsides I see in this game: a) it´s too short (you have to beat it twice to see te full story, but it's still a little short), and b) you need to play in a well-lit room with enough space to move, and enough light sources. Since the game flows using the AR Book included, you need a room where the 3DS can read the images well enough. Apart from those things, this game is the only true horror game I´ve ever seen on a portable system. Fully recommended.Read full review
