These are great WiFi access points for home/stand alone use. Able to support many clients at once maintaining media streams effortlessly. Top speed may not set any records, but this won’t drop your stream or VOIP call. However in order to use this with your router without a Ruckus controller, you do need to log onto the access point (manual DHCP settings) and upgrade the firmware to the latest “standalone” firmware for this unit from Ruckus Wireless (free Ruckus account required to obtain firmware package).

Works great! Setup was easy-ish, just a few steps: Reset it using the reset button on the back Locate a manual online, Ruckus's website has archives Follow the setup instructions Load standalone AP firmware (also from Ruckus's website) in order to use it without a Ruckus controller I had to change IP settings, it defaults to 10.0.0.0/8 and I needed 192.168.1.0/24 as well as changing the default gateway to point to my router Ta-da, now I get 80Mbps wireless in the back of my apartment!

Does not come with power supply, but powering over PoE works. Just reset and make sure the AP is updated. This is great for homelab, to learn about networking. Not recommended for home use, since it's end of life and doesn't have WiFi 5.

Initially had some trouble because it was configured as standalone, I had to update its firmware to get it to connect to Zone Director.
