Based on the television show of the same name, Knight Rider is a non-stop action game that allows you to take the role of Michael Knight and drive the unfathomably souped-up talking Trans-Am KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand). Born as Michael Long, Knight was a hotshot police detective before he was shot down by terrorists. Brought back to life by Knight Foundation founder Wilton Knight, Long is re-christened Michael Knight and teamed up with the technologically enhanced KITT to take down criminals who operate "above the law." Although the game is mostly action-based, there is a hint of sleuthing involved for added challenge. You can choose your equipment at the start of the race and make switches during the race. The goal is to destroy as many enemy vehicles as you can without being knocked out of the race yourself.

Excellent!
The game is easy enough if you put your mind to it and I completed this before. The ending music sounds a bit like the theme for Knight Rider, the music is nice in the game play too. The cars shield is tough and the engine sound is cool ,like a supped up car. I like all the different missions that Devon puts you on. Excellent evil prevention game! Enjoy it much and the cartridge art is a master piece!The game is easy enough if you put your mind to it and I completed this before. Knight Rider is an early NES game based on the classic TV series of the same name. The TV series focused on the adventures of Michael Knight and his car, KITT. Their adventures took them from town to town as they sniffed out evil in all its forms, big or small. The nature of the show was incredibly cheesy but people were drawn to it for a variety of reasons which included the fact that any problem could be wrapped up in an hour, beautiful women were plentiful, and of course the main draw was the tricked out Trans Am (KITT) and his incredible electronics which made him so much more than just another car. This game from Acclaim came out in 1988 and is their attempt to capture the essence of the show. Capture it, they do not. This is an early NES game and it is apparent from the get go. ... However, one must take its age into consideration when doing a review of any kind. Therefore, I have devised a scoring system based on games of the same genre but just as importantly, the same era. After all, it would be unfair to compare the earliest iterations of Street Fighter with a new game like Tekken 6. Sound: 1/10 The engine sounds are not easily distinguishable and come across as just intermittent noises implanted to remind us that pressing buttons or going faster has to make some kind of sound - ANY kind of sound! Music: 3/10 The music is pretty awful but they did come close to the original Knight Rider theme music. Controls: 10/10 Like all NES games, the controls are straight forward and definitely one of the game's best selling points. Graphics: 1/10 I know that there is only so much one can expect from an 8 bit processor but Acclaim really shot themselves in the foot here. Not only are the graphics awful even for an 8 bit game, it is the things that you DON'T SEE that are a constant source of frustration. Due to some sort of technical glitches, you will occasionally run into "phantom cars" that simply don't show on your screen because the processing power was not strong enough to show everything that Acclaim had programmed into the game. This is not the fault of the NES system, but rather the fault of Acclaim for not designing this game within the parameters of the system's capabilities. Gameplay: 2/10 The missions basically consist of you driving through towns or on freeways and trying to avoid getting hit by the CONSTANT gunfire coming from your enemies. There isn't any variety to the missions or the fact that you can't really avoid getting hit so you die. Again. And again. If this is your idea of fun, then this is the game for you! Replay Value? 0/10 Even HARDCORE Knight Rider fans, like myself, won't want to play this game over and over again due to the technical glitches, lack of varied gameplay, and the fact that Acclaim used us to make a buck since they knew we would buy anything with our beloved KITT on the cover.
