Dirt 2 is a very simple racing game that gives a complexity only modern gaming consoles can deliver. The in car game play is phenomenal. I love to feel the realism this game provides. Even though I play on a 90" screen any type of TV will give you utter satisfaction. Overall, the storyline is simple and give the user much control on types of racing you can play. The physics seem pretty realistic, given you are racing "race" quality cars. So, don't expect drifting to be life like based on the physics being from high powered cars. I don't have much time to go on about this game, but I love it. I own it on both my computers and on PS3. I can't get enough of it.
This is a really enjoyable game in that here are so many different tracks around the world to race on. Also many different characteristics to your vehicle that you can enhance or decrease. And an abundant choice of types of vehicles for the many different races to choose from. I also appreciate the positive banter that goes on during and after the race. I would recommend this to others wether novice, or expert. I bought this for a friend and also purchased for myself so we can play on-line together. At Half.com I was able to get the price of both games at an affordable cost.
Great graphics, great physics, great control, just a great off road racer hands down! Iv followed the Colin McRae series of racing games on the pc for awhile and i think no matter what platform you get the game on...its a must have in any race junkys collection. I cant think of any other off road/rally game that comes close to dirt 2. My only beef with the game id have to say is the lack of color schemes or customization you can do to the cars. there are a few skins you can unlock per car but i would have liked to paint them my own style (need for speed underground style) if you like racers, you got to at lest rent this game or download the demo!
Game is pretty sweet. It takes a bit to get used to how the cars handle, but once you figure out handling this game is fun and challenging.

It is the perfect blend of real world and arcade physics. The cars are well modeled, tracks are detailed and diverse, and the Tour portion of the game is fantastic. You can limitedly customize your cars, which is still a lot of fun and gives you a sense of ownership over the car itself. Beginners keep at it. If you are spinning out a lot or cant seem to keep your car headed in a straight line, keep practicing, getting good is part of the fun of BEING good. The only set of vehicles I found hard to get used to were the Baja Trucks, but after more practice those are really fun too. This game is a must have for anyone who even remotely likes racing games. Even with my preorder already in for Dirt 3, I will not get rid of Dirt 2. . . Ever.
