Leap of faith
Leap of faith not aimed at product but if it was the solution to my problem on my Aged Accurist Pulse Energy Quartz BP10 (Watch ran but stopped after 1hr of removing off wrist...it used to last for weeks but had been getting less and less over the years). Local watch repairers wanted more than the original purchase price of watch to investigate and repair if it was repairable?. I asked them if they could just sell me a cell and they all refused. So after 18 months of looking and not wanting to spend over £20 to maybe find out there was another issue. I eventually found this Ebayer and took the plunge at £14... Pleased I did as I now have my old friend up and running once again. I have to be honest and admit it stretched my watch repairing ability to its limit including using a magnifying ... EcoDrive not holding a charge? You can fix it.
After about 5 years my EcoDrive still looks and works great but it wasn't holding a charge for more than a few days without a long light exposure. I found a couple YouTube videos and learned that this capacitor/rechargable battery could be replaced pretty easily. Ordered. Installed. Problem solved. Make sure you're buying the right capacitor for your watch's movement model# (engraved on case back.) You will need a basic set of watch repair tools. If this new capacitor works at first but does not charge up in your watch, you probably need to replace the whole movement.
