The magazine is exactly the same as the original I received when I bought my scout rifle. This magazine was very hard to find as is so much of the firearms related items at this point in time. This was the lowest price I found in stock and it was still over $60. I thought my spare BAR magazines were expensive at just over $50. I was wrong.

I got this for my Savage Impulse Big Game, since I wanted another and a higher capacity magazine. Despite not being listed and Savage giving no information on this, the top looked visually identical to the provided magazine and I took a chance on it functioning. It does fit, though I have push the mag rearward after inserting in order for it to click into place. I also found, as several other posters here have, that it really only holds 9 rounds and not 10. A 10th round can be forced in, but the mag will not insert with the bolt forward, and the 10th round popped out when I twice attempted to insert the mag with the bolt to the rear. While the price is above MSRP, it is still the best deal I could find for it.

Maybe I am spoiled by all the great AR15/10 magazines out there, in steel, aluminum, and composite. Magazines that cost as little as $10 each and still work like a charm. These magazines cost over $60 each, so I cannot truthfully say they are a good value. Also, both needed a "breaking in" period to get them to work properly. When I first tried them, they both "stuck" in my rifle and I had to pull/pry/yank on them to release them. After about 40-50 times they finally inserted and ejected smoothly. Since there are no other aftermarket mags that fit the 10fcp, I suppose these are the best available.

OEM quality. All in all good fit, one slight glitch, loading the 10th round was a bit snug and scratched the case. I use steel case most of the time for plinking, but for competition I use my hand loads and not to crazy about loosing a good brass case. It only happens on the tenth round. Other than this slight inconvenience, great mag.

As many others have observed, tenth round is tight and in my case failed to feed. Nine works flawlessly so 9 plus 1 it is and I am fine with that!
