i received the rifle rest and figured out how to assemble it in spite of the microscopic print on the instruction manual. are they saving 1/2 a penny by not making print large enough to read without an atomic microscope ? i also ordered the spring kit so i can shoot some of my small caliber varminters. so far it seems to be well built for the money. better than one could expect considering the price. after all , i am not going to sell the house and first born to buy a rest for competition. this was intended to be used for zeroing my scoped rifles. as i have yet to try it out i cannot rate performance but when i do i may update this review, be it good or bad.

I worked an hour to tighten the adjustments up, etc. a total waste of money. Either buy the real Lead Sled or, spend much less and get one of Caldwell Rock models. The $30 Rock Junior and a rear sandbag are just great for sighting in.

This rifle bench is well-built and rock-steady. It has an interesting trigger pull that is hydraulic via a "syringe" type arrangement that allows it to fire your rifle without touching it! The benefits of this are obvious. I bought this one factory reconditioned, and it looks like it was never used anyway!

Tested this sighting rest at the Oklahoma City Gun Club and found it to be better than any of the others that were tested. Easy setup after using 2x4 with bolts to hold sighting rest on concrete tables with 'C' clamps. Tested using different cal guns (did not use any rim fired guns because did not have spring kit) and the sighting rest was outstanding. The AR-15 needs a 10 round magazine to fit in the rest with the 'V' block (supplied with rest), all other guns fit without any problems. The only trouble was with the straps, the velcro was on the same side as the fuzzy side, however after resewing one end to the other side on both straps, everything worked fine. Would like to have known about the spring kit when ordering so that I could have tested rim fired guns. Over all rating from 1 to 10 was given a 10. Well worth the money.Read full review

For the average shooter, this is a great rest. It's very adjustable to fit many types of rifles. It isn't pro quality and it doesn't have a pro price, but what you get for the money is a very functional rest at a great price. I purchased the optional recoil spring kit and I use the rest for everything from my air rifles to the big bore shooters. Others complain about poor quality screws and adjustments but I find that everything works good just as it came. I didn't want to spend $ 1,000 on a rest and this one works great for me.
