I installed this on my Government Model 1911 1A 45 ACP. Took a little work and one washer to get it to the perfect height for my smallish hands. I also had to put on a set of rubber pistol grips which are a little thinner than the rosewood grips that came on my pistol. These combinations made it work perfectly for me. You will need to customize for your hands so be inventive and try several different ways to fit this release for yourself.

Looking from top view with gun pointed ahead in safe direction, the lip that hold mag cause feeding problem when reloading. When holding mag release and reloading, no problem. Without holding it hits lip, moves mag to left, round hits protruding piece from grip safety(1u mil-spec models) causing round to tilt up making feeding problem

I have a SA TRP and it fit like a charm and wow did it make my mag changes fast! I left the factory spring because I have read issues of mags falling out during comps with the lite spring. Recommend this part for anyone who wants to reach the mag release button without having to contort your thumb or use your support hand.
