Although marketed as "factory originals", when compared with the magazine that came with the pistol, they are definitely different. The first noticeable difference is that the original mag is of seamless construction; the two "after-market" ones have visibly welded seams along their backs, from top to bottom. The original has a very smooth and shiny blue finish; the others are matte, and their finish scratches much easier than the original. The font for numbers and words stamped into the original is different from the others. The plastic bases of the others are matte vs. shiny for the original; and, the embossed letters and symbol are not as sharp as the original. The original is marked as "Made in Brazil"; the others marked "Made in USA" (which could be the reason for the differences). Although there are differences, the "after-market" mags seem to be well constructed, of similar metal gauge as the original, and they seem to fit and function as good as the original (i.e., easily enter into and drop from the mag well). However, they have only been used once, so longevity cannot be evaluated.Read full review

Doesn't always release from brand new gun or even a gun that has shot over 500 rounds threw it make sure you buy the ones with creases on sides if you don't want to use a screw driver to get clip out

4 out of 5 only because a sharp edge at the top made it difficult to insert the magazine (I had to hit the bottom of the mag into the palm of my hand to get it past the magazine release catch) An easy fix tho, I inserted an empty cartridge to move the follower down out of the way, and used a small file to round off the edge. Works perfect now.

After firing 100 Rounds thru the magizine (two different days 50 rounds per day). The magizine has preformed perfectly. No problems of anykind. So far so good. But only time will tell.

The Magazine is of good quality, and works well, after a slight modification. Depending on your PT 709 the Magazine maybe very tight, in fact will not drop out of gun, and has to be pushed out from ejection port. I have heard of this before and there is an easy fix. However do to liability issues that's all I will say.
