I had been thinking about replacing my Canon T3i for some time and found a good deal for the body on EBAY. I have several lenses so I didn't need anymore lenses. The controls are similar to my older T3i and the subtle changes are an improvement over the older camera. I really like the larger sensor and one of my reasons for upgrading the camera was to photograph the solar eclipse coming in August of this year. Using a cropped sensor camera with a long lens effectively gives me a longer lens that I'm counting on for a better image of the sun during the eclipse. I also shoot with a Canon 5D MkII and it has a LCD display on the top of the camera body and this T6i also has that feature. It makes it easier to see the settings on the camera without having to look at the rear display to check the setting. I'm very pleased with my purchase...Read full review

This is a really nice reliable, high quality camera. It's not too heavy to carry around, and allows you to use manual or Automatic settings for taking photos. It has auto focus that can be adjusted to focus in any part of the frame. You can take consecutive shots, timed shots and long exposure. Once you become familiar with what all the buttons do, it becomes easier to change different settings. I downloaded PDF instructions, although it comes with a book. I also watched youtube videos about it. The bag that came with it was a little on the small side, but it can carry what I need. The tripod that came with it is a bit cheap but it would work ok. I love the quality of the images, and can't wait to take more photos with this camera.

This is a great camera. I purchased it for my microscope, without the lens. The USB connection to the computer brings up the live view easily, and saves the shots automatically. The image on its screen is better than what I see on the computer. I made the adapter to the microscope and have the shutter controlled by another computer through the external shutter wire to do time lapse photography. The camera is still new to me but everything seems great. If you want to see how I did the microscope adapter, look me up with the word unquantum.

i dont even know where to begin, i LOVE this camera. upgrading from a t3i, I can safely say that this camera just blows all my expectations away. and yes folks, you can set this camera up for back button focusing. 19 cross type af points and they all hit the spot just right even when dealing with low light situations. if youre not into videography do not get this model, get the 750D aka t6i I definitely only bought this because I want the top deck display on top of HDR video, its definitely worth the extra 100 dollars compared to t6i. try to match this is a fast SD card so your buffer wont lag. you can shoot infinitely with jpeg with a fast card. and 7 frames with RAW.

I was a professional photographer for many years. I got out of the business when things went digital---but finally decided that I wanted a good camera for personal use. Having used Canon cameras professionally, I of course went to that brand again. After having experienced the older Canon F! models with FD lenses, I was a little put off by the very light weight construction. However, I have found it to be a very rugged camera. It is well designed and easy to operate. Lenses are as good as the old FD lenses that I liked so well.
