So my 35 year old alarm clock died and I needed a new alarm clock. I found the Philips Alarm Clock as a good replacement. It is small so it doesn't take up a lot of room on my nightstand. The readout numbers are in green and easy to read in the middle of the night. The top of the clock is smooth which does make it difficult to find the button you want to turn off the alarm so that is why I gave it four stars instead of five. Even though I don't like the smooth top and flush buttons, I would still recommend it as a good buy.

Very low quality radio. Controls are not easy to use, and very slow to change stations. The user instructions are very hard to understand, and the picture illustrations are not much help either. The single speaker has a tinny sound, and lots of static when searching for stations. Finding a clear station to listen to is exceedingly difficult, even with the external FM antenna. I purchased this radio as a gift for my niece, and she returned it to me as too difficult to operate. I tried using it myself, but found it both user unfriendly, and of such poor quality that I finally just tossed it in the trash bin. I do not recommend this radio to buy. The name Phillips in USA made radios used to stand for quality in manufacturing and also excellent sound quality, but this import Phillips is overall very poor quality indeed.Read full review

This clock is just OK. The display is a nice green and it won't keep you up at night! However, I found the alarm settings tricky and if you want to set it for just one day, you have to go back and "deactivate" the alarm which doesn't work all the time. So it may ring Monday if you just set it for Sunday. I couldn't pick up any radio station on this at all no matter what I did or where I put the radio. I found another alarm clock at a yard sale and am using that one. this particular Phillips will be a thrift store donation.

Very good radio for Under $10. It tunes FM stations well but no AM band. The setup was easy after figuring out how because the instructions are confusing. The sound quality is fine for talk radio but music sounds flat with no tone adjustment available. Overall good quality and features for such a low cost.

Easily readable digits from the days of old. The same color & style my 15-year-old cable box had. Not the overly bright streaky LED displays they make today.
