John Deere / Craftsman crossover
Purchased this JD 345 carburetor to bolt on to my Craftsman 18 HP water cooled Lawn tractor 917.273421 because we both share the same motor. Where the carburetor replace for the Craftsman is no longer available but is for JD and a lot cheaper. Linkage is the same and is a direct bolt on. Completely pleased with carburetor and would suggest bolting this on to your Craftsman 18 HP Kawasaki lawn tractor 917.273421 you'll enjoy it. I give it a 5 star but should be a half off because you do have to change the bowl over (so you can mount an anti- flood solenoid which is not needed) and put an over flow vent tube(don't need it) Yes that if you want to go to everything looking OEM but , runs great out of the box so I'll stick to 5 enjoy.Purchased this JD 345 carburetor to bolt on to my Craftsman 18 HP water cooled Lawn tractor 917.273421 because we both share the same motor. I was chasing down problems on a 20yr old carb on my JD 345. Leaking from bowl and bowl screw. Finally decided to get the new one and I am glad I did. Bolted on and fired right up. no adjustments necessary!
