Nice comfy seat
The new seat for our John Deere mower is nice. The padded seat is more comfortable than the old original one. However there were no instructions on how to uninstall the safety switch from the old seat and install in the new seat. The John Deere instruction manual doesn't show how either. After hunting through the Internet semi decent instructions were found. Thankfully my husband is determined. He had to disassemble the old seat entirely ( padding from hard molded shell) before he could see how to take out the switch. Once that problem was solved, placing it in the new seat and installing the seat to the tractor was easy.The new seat for our John Deere mower is nice. seat for 425 John Deere lawn tractor
I received the 425 John Deere seat with a noticable signs of a sloppy glue job. The glue on the upper side of the seat was sticky. I thought originally it was overspray. After a few weeks the seat started to separate but I had hopes it would not go any further. After 6 weeks it was apparent the seat was totally separating from the plastic. This was supposed to be an exact replacement for a 425 John Deere tractor but modifications were needed to make it work. This was not even close to the quality of an original John Deere seat I received the 425 John Deere seat with a noticable signs of a sloppy glue job. Quality product, a bit large for my small mower
This seat has several wholes and two metal tabs to fit a plethora of lawn tractors. The ones listed (LT133, LT155, LT166) are the smallest this seat will fit. I think this seat is a sturdy comfortable replacement. My LT155 has a plastic sliding mount the seat attaches too. It uses only the two metal tabs at the very front of the seat. The seat hangs over the rear of the plastic seat mount 2-3 inches more than the original seat. Time will tell if this extra leverage will cause any additional stress on the front mounting points. The seat safety switch will fit this seat. I had to use a utility knife to clean up the slots where the tabs of the safety switch insert into the bottom of the seat. If the seat was more proportionate to the mounting surface, I would have rated it higher.This seat has several wholes and two metal tabs to fit a plethora of lawn tractors. A very comfortable seat
This replacement seat is a great value. It sets upon an LT155 that is over 15 years old. The original seat had a lower back and in it's time was comfortable. However, the higher back snugs the lumbar area making it MORE comfortable to relax the back and get the mowing job done. Very easy to install and a perfect fit for the LT155. I would highly recommend this replacement seat!
