The dip gage was too long, it hit the bottom of tank and you could not close the cap. I have 314 and 317 tractors. Both use a shorter gage. I just took the new gage apart, cut short the metal runners, bent the guide rail tips so they would lock back into the cap. All good, about a 45 minute fix.
