    Perfect for the hand tool lover

    Filled with beautiful photography, and excellent information about tuning, sharpening and using every kind of handplane imaginable. There are great photos of rare and interesting tools many of us are likely never to see in person. The text conveys information well and the pictures really illustrate the methods clearly. That being said, I hate this book, I want to own every tool i see in it's pages, and my budget just isn't cut out for that. Perfect to add to your understanding of planes, learn about planes you want to buy or make and figure out how to make the ones you have preform better.

    This is the manual for handplane owners that we always wanted.

    This book is written for the beginner and the experienced user alike. It is carefully and concisely researched, exemplifying years of experience in the art. The fine photography is an added bonus. If you own a handplane this is the manual you always wanted.

    A truly wonderful book on classic hand tools! The history of various types of hand tools a their uses. Where to find them, buy them, use them, repair them, sharpen them, etc., etc. If you enjoy old hand tools....do yourself a favor and buy this book!
