Good Quality after market tractor seat. Works well.
I received a good tractor seat. I used it to replace an old seat on my 1979 John Deere 950 tractor. I had to make some adaptions but it worked out well and the new seat is Awesome! Only problem was it is not the seat I had ordered. The seat I ordered was supposed to have the words John Deere imprinted across the back of it according to the photos and I did pay more for this seat but I got the other one without any words on it instead. It still worked out just fine. I used the seat mounts from the old original seat and installed them onto the new seat bottom. It mounted right onto the tractor just like it was made for it! It works very well. Sure an improvement over the old battered rusted out original seat!I received a good tractor seat. I used it to replace an old seat on my 1979 John Deere 950 tractor. Definitely not a bolt in replacement
Plastic base will not rust, but is not very sturdy. I'd bet the plastic will break within a year. Bolt holes did not line up with my tractor's seat bracket. Thread pitch of the seat's threaded inserts was not the same thread pitch as my tractor's factory seat bolts. Had to disassemble the new seat, drill holes that matched my tractor's bracket and had to find washers & nuts to fit. Whoever manufactured this seat has obviously never installed it on a tractor. Seat looks and feels great but included bolt heads interfere with slide tracks.
Very pleased with look and feel of seat but included bolt heads make it difficult to slide seat. Bolt heads on original bolts were 10mm with integral washer while this seat had 1/2” heads with thicker washers that interfere with the seat rails. Had to grind down heads to provide clearance. Probably could have found thinner washers but this should not be necessary since it is supposed to fit a John Deere 4300 with no modification. Overall I still felt it is well made and I’m happy with my purchase. Had it not been for the need to modify the bolts I would have given 5 stars. Very pleased with look and feel of seat but included bolt heads make it difficult to slide seat.
