DETAIL: One of the most ancient and well-known sapphires belonged to the England’s Edward the Confessor. He did not have cash so he gave away his sapphire ring. After that, the miraculous sapphire was given a cross-shape cut and was placed in the Westminster Abbey where the miracles continued; the stone was known to cure the blind as well as paralytics and epileptics.
