I am using this for playing in an southern rock string band. We all have personal amps and are projecting our instruments from stage. Vocals are thru the PA. I found this unit to be moderately easy to install. Beware of the putty "it's really sticky", and follow the instructions to the letter. Im still working out the tonality issues with it. I found it to be very hot going straight thru my, Fender studio lead amp, and unable to get it cooled down. I tried it with my Peavy bandit with better results, but still have the high and mid rolled all the way off. I have confidence in making this sound good but might need eq and compression to get a handle on it.

I installed this pickup in a 1932 Regal Resonator that I did a complete restoration on. I used it with a Paul Beard cone and spider with a maple/ebony bridge. I am extremely pleased with the tone. Other piezo pickups, like the under saddle type, never sounded natural, always sterile and harsh. The Shatten pickup is warm and organic sounding. Your unplugged tone of the guitar, only louder. Easy to install. I'm very pleased with this pickup! Highly recommended.
